No more so than Horace Grant was for Pippen.

That said, but I'd have to take him over James in this discussion. I absolutely despised Pippen (and Jordan, and Phil Jackson, and everyone else associated w/ those Bulls teams except for Dennis Rodman), but for the moment, there are things that James does great (in fact, other worldly), but areas where considerable improvement is needed, whereas Pippen was far more consistent across the board.

James is a truer leader in every sense of the word and has the greater ability to carry a team, but that's not what this conversations is about.

For now, Id say its close...but Pippen is definitely a better DEFENSIVE player. As everyone says, Lebron is just a freak..he is a super fast and strong..but all around skills I have to go with Pippen
