I talked to Bruno Cullen outside the stadium after the Coast game and he said they tried to keep him even after he signed that contract but the money differential ended up being too much. Its a pity.

From what I heard I on tv I thought it was a lack of game time he had at the start of the season.

Well yeah, that was partially it.

Because he wasn't getting the game time the Broncos couldn't dedicate enough $$$ to him in future seasons to stop him negotiating elsewhere.

He signed with Souths a while back but there were recent re-negotiations but the Broncos couldn't come up with anywhere near enough money to match Souths' offer anyway, so he decided to stick to that deal.

It is a significant loss for sure.
