  • Since the country has emerged from Covid, wages have dramatically risen

    I know people are upset about gas prices but before Covid fast food workers were making minimum wage and now they start off at nearly double that. I see postings everywhere and see people making lots more money then pre Covid, so I am not surprised Gas among other things have gone up in price. How else are they going to pay these wages? The cost of living went up so the wages went up as well, we can not have it both ways people.

    People use to call fast food workers crazy for wanting $15 an hour, well now it is a reality and now we have to face the facts that with that reality the prices of daily things have gone up as well. Thankfully I am well off and this does not bother me as it may bother some but we have to use simple logic and understand how the world works.

    Because it’s not about the actual wage. It’s about buying power. Wage goes up, but it’s taxed more, and prices all around go up, so can you really buy more stuff?

    And what about people making 16-17$ an hour? They used to be lower middle class, now they’re almost minimum wage level, so that’s quite the downgrade. Shouldn’t their salaries be raised as well to stay fair?

    It becomes a vicious circle, and raising minimum wage extremely for no good reason leads to less buying power.

      Inflation = things cost more

      Your salary is irrelevant if it costs you more to pay for stuff

        My salary has not gone up and there is no raise in site. Inflation will squash that increase

            Yes inflation is awesome. Zimbabwe and the Weimar Republic are models to aspire to.

                Shhh they're making big bucks! To pay for the big bucks items like food and gas lol. Inflation has canceled out raises.

                    Wage increases are not keeping pace with inflation. The boost in minimum wage also lends itself to inflation.
