Couple of early roles of RDJ that I liked
In Dreams (horror/thriller 1999). He wasn't THE star and his on screen time was not long (there's a reason for this). He did a good job.
Natural Born Killers was another. In both movies, he wasn't THE star but he did a good job.

With Depp, it's the exact opposite. I think his end came with The Lone Ranger. All down hill after that.

As an actor I find RDJ more charismatic, I think Depp has a bit more range though and I very much enjoy him in pirates, not seen him do anything good for a while.

I don't dislike Depp but as far as acting in movies I want to see Downey has done that more often. However, Downey, Kilmer, Slater, Sheen there was a few who did the whole snotty genius bit when they were younger and that always made me think they're just ****ty versions of Goldbloom. They all went on to be some boss actors doing all sorts of rolls but I still think of Downey and Goldbloom as basically just charismatic smart guy character actors and between them I still reckon Jeff is better despite Iron Man.

Depp is a more original actors with a bigger depth of roles. Doesn't make Dead Man or Secrete, etc, good movies though. Edward is boring AF and just makes me want to watch Keaton in Batman.

In a fight, I think Downey's got a crazy party guy side doesn't he? I dunno who wins, I think Charlie Sheen probably whoops both though.
