And nobody can blame him for sitting on his arse and picking up £40,000 a week. He signed a contract and he probably knows that he's knackered.

The world's his oyster now if he has a bit of sense. He's still only 24-years-old with some serious dough in the bank. Footie probably isn't in his future.
Horrendous post. It's not you is it Sparky? Im not talking to Mr Mark Hughes himself, the one who backed him to become a world class player(like most of us did) am i?

THAT bad? You don't think he's out of shape for a so called professional footballer?

The last picture i had of Johnson in my head was a skinny blonde haired lad, then seeing that pic out of the blue he's changed into a fat faced fat fatso fatty.(slight exaggeration)

The mistake your making here is that your comparing him to the average man on the street. Of course he's still in a 10 times better situation that us twats but he was once one of the brightest young prospects in English football. The so called next Colin Bell for Citeh. He's gone and p1ssed that up. Pissed it up whilst earning 40k a week for doing eff all fair enough, but still a HUGE waste of talent.

More to life than money. Especially when you're as talented as Johnson was/is.

I think you have to back the lad to have modicum of self-awareness. And as far as I know he has played little to no football for a couple of years and is at City where I'm assuming he has had all the opportunities in the world to get back to full fitness.

He's probably looked at it pragmatically. Name a footballer who has the multitude of injuries he has and recovered? One serious knee injury nearly always does for most even top pros and Johnson's had a plethora of bad injuries.

Not sure you can call it a waste of talent if he's knackered.

''At City they talk about someone who became "big-time" and started spending too much time in nightclubs and casinos. At times they could not understand why he was not fit to play when the medical staff could not find an obvious problem.''

I thought he overcame his injuries? Whatever the reasoning behind it is, the fact remains it's a waste of such a big talent. Wether that's his own fault or due to injuries i don't know. I read the above in bold about him but who knows. Maybe the long periods out with bad injuries was what took him towards the drink. **** knows but he could have been some player.

          • Had high hopes for Johnson. He even looked a bit like Colin Bell. But he got injured and then pissed it all away.

By the time City had moved on up in the world he was beyond putting in the effort to fulfill his potential.

Ronaldo would be the obvious one but I'd agree with your point in principle.

Johnson was just a fat ****, I've seen him about 5 times in clubs and casinos in town absolutely leathered, he was definitely on coke as well as I know people who have seen him turning up at parties with loads of the stuff. Think he's been done for drink driving a couple of times as well.

It's embarrassing really, all that talent and he wants to piss it up the wall. I know he's had his fair share of injuries but he never even gave himself a chance. He was at Leicester on loan a couple of years ago and he looked to fat to even be playing at championship level.

When he first broke through he looked a class above what Wilshere looks like now.

              • Italian giants AC Milan are interested in signing Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul, 24, and full back Davide Santon, 22.

Newcastle have made enquiries into deals for five players including Saint Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 23, and former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere, 29, who plays for Lorient.

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, 31, says he has made no decision over his future amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.

Barcelona are lining up Manchester United keeper David De Gea, 22, to replace Valdes if he leaves the club.

QPR striker Djibril Cisse, 31, is set to move to the Middle East on a six-month loan to make way for £7m Marseille striker Loic Remy, 26.

Fulham are considering a move for out-of-favour Aston Villa defender Stephen Warnock, 31.

Chelsea's Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, 20, says he wants to stay on loan at Atletico Madrid for another year.

Aston Villa are set to beat Sunderland to the signing of Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko, 22.

Charlton are offering Bolton striker Marvin Sordell, 21, a chance to return south, a year after he left Watford.

Fulham are no longer chasing 19-year-old England goalkeeper Jack Butland as Martin Jol is on the verge of signing Roma's Maarten Stekelenburg, 29.

Fulham have told Norway defender John Arne Riise, 32, that he is free to leave the club this month, after a fall-out with manager Martin Jol.

Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk will consider selling Brazilian playmaker Willian to Chelsea or Tottenham this month but want around £20m for the 24-year-old.

                • Shaun he looks like you now

He'll probably end up at some league 2 team.

He couldn't make it at Championship level.

Looks like he has put on more weight since his spell at Leicester City.

Maybe a league 1 team will give him a chance.
