  • Never thought I'd see the day Palace would have this kind of talent and actually play the beautiful game like this. Astounding, a new best game ever played by Palace, absolutely raking Villa over the coals

    • Palace have been so good recently and players playing so well that it makes you think Vieira and Hodgson were bum of the month managers.

But more likely it goes to show that probably City and Arsenal aside if almost any team in the league can get 4 players absolutely fit and flying they will win a lot of games. Most teams have some top players.

Palace themselves probably have Olise, Eze, Wharton, Andersen/Guehi and possibly even Mitchell who will get into most pl sides.

That's half a team!! So in the unlikely scenario they could keep them all fit and at the club - where should they even finish?

Chelsea themselves have won 5 in a row due to the massive upturn in form of Caicedo , Cucurella, Chalobah, and even Madueke - to assist Palmer and Gallagher - that's a lot of players playing well at the same time and a rising tide lifts all boats - not as romantic as Palace as some of those players cost bucks but the same thing happened.

      • I woud take Eze in a heart beat. Olise is a nice player too but his injuries concern me more. Eze been injured?

Guehi as well. Will gladly sell one of the frenchmen and swap Trevoh to bring back Geuhi. I always said Guehi is probably the best CB talent out of the academy since JT. He's better then the others imo. Incudes Colwill.

Happy the season is over though. What a time to be a Chelsea supporter

Bayer Leverkusen make history as the only undefeated season in Bundesliga history as well. Amazing work that by those guys and Xabi Alonso.

The Champions League final should be a blast too. The entire world is going for one team and it's not the royalty side.

I think Chalobah is probably the best defender out of those boys. At least to Chelsea. Proof is in the pudding and we tend to do well when he plays. I dunno what it is about him that makes him so hard to rate that highly, I don't really see individually anything outstanding. He is an athletic guy and big and strong and he plays in a position where you can still be a muck and nettles kind of defender and be important.

Good finish for Chelsea but I am sick of them. The owners will still gut the team to pay for crap players that we have currently and kill any momentum and probably still cop some sort of points deduction and transfer ban.

Leaving Chelsea out of it completely I don't really care if City have cheated financially the whole time - the team on the field and the coaching has led to them winning deserved titles insofar as the players and the coach deserved them.

But.....someone else needs to win the league next year because 4 in a row is some Scottish Premier s.hit.

          • Oh without a doubt. I don't know why Pochettino didn't use Trevoh earlier. He has more experience than all of them and used to the Prem.

Guehi is still better though, plays on the left side, right footed, and can pass anywhere on the pitch. Captained Palace at 21 or something and all they had were 30+ year olds.

            That's a leader.

The only team that can challenge is Arsenal and they're still too lightweight to steal on from City.

Unless Liverpool find some kind of savant as next coach, City is the new United and there is no Chelsea to disrupt them unfortunately.

            • City are due a crap season soon though surely? Even united in their pomp would take a season off while embedding new ideas or players.

City do seem like a different best though. Their entire setup is on point.

Maybe a crap transfer window will hurt them, otherwise if they replenish the squad well they could just keep going until Pep needs a piss bag.

                • Chalobah in the same stratosphere as Guehi is absolutely mental Guehi is going to be the captain for England for 12 to 15 years soon. He is the one most likely to leave Palace this summer imo. I'd bet on one of Olise and Eze going as well, with the other following the next summer. Wharton won't be long for Croydon either, he's pure class. One thing I trust Palace to do though is keep mining the Championship for the best young players, they've done it time and time again and come up with young, budding stars every time.

I just hope Palace get the amount of cash they should for these guys. Guehi is an 80 mil man imo, Eze probably 100. I'd say Olise is 100 as well, but his health questions probably will restrict him from fetching that amount. Even guys like Mateta, Andersen and Richards have played themselves into potential big transfers, not to mention the likes of Mitchell, Lerma, Doucoure, Hughes and Munoz, plus the 2 keepers.

I only wish they had done the sensible thing and thanked Roy for his service after last season and snatched Glasner up to start the year, truly think Palace would have finished at least 6th with this roster under Oliver for a full year.

Chalobah is definitely a good player and had been favored at Chelsea over Guehi by lots of key decision makers. Guehi is class though but if Chalobah left his status and influence would grow at his next club.

but yeah I dont know why no other clubs go for championship players.

There are players down there - Morgan Whittaker I'm assuming goes to Palace or maybe West Ham (who do look at championship occasionally).

Or even lower - I always feel the same about strikers in that is so specialised. If you can score then you should be able to score at all levels depending on what type of goals they are.

Fair enough of you are dribbling around 5 players and banging them in every time then that isn't a great sign but if it is something replicable like a one touch finish in the box of either foot or head owing to sharp movement?

I mean who is to say Macauley Langstaff couldn't score 10-15 goals off the bench for Arsenal and win them 6-8 more points. Clubs get killed by data - I dont know what data Palace and all the others that were interested in with Wharton used but I bet the reason why they really wanted him was because he had good control, he could pass, and moved well. Regardless if those bore out amazing stats- especially at his age.

Noooope. You can't say that after calling Batshuayi Batshoes for 4 years LOL

That's all that man did. One touch finish, headers and out scored every single striker the club has bought to 'replace' him. Goals to minutes ratio and total goals. Out scored Morata, Giroud, Higuain, Werner, and I think he even outscored Lukaku or had better goal ratio irc.
