  • Leicester sack Shakespeare according to Sky sports

What a **** of a club. All goodwill from that astonishing season erased now. Some good players could leave in Jan, imo.

    Know your place Leicester ffs

Far too much emphasis getting placed on stats though. Numbers aside if you watch Ronaldo play what does he offer, goals aside? He's a poacher. He lays the ball off to the wide man and makes his way into the area to wait for the delivery. He's efficient, yes.

Neymar is now the hub for PSG and Brazil. Everything goes through him. He consistently has a bigger say on a game than Ronaldo, who's impact is judged purely on whether he scored or not. Neymar can affect a game without scoring.

Stats aren't great simply in the sense that if you were to sit and read stats without watching the players play they'd have you believe that Ronaldo could have as much impact on a game as Messi, such is the heavy reliance on pure numerical production. We know that this isn't the case yet people rely so heavily on the stats to back up their case.

Edit: Also, Ronaldo versatile? Surely one of the most one dimensional top class footballers around at the minute. He does 1 thing and 1 thing only.
Messi has better stats than Ronaldo...but we can discuss that if they are close. Neymars stats are literally half of Ronaldo's in this instance. Ronaldo is the best in the world at poaching. His acceleration when getting into position is the best in the world. Could Neymar do what Ronaldo does? No. Could Ronaldo do what Neymar does? Probably not but he's fairly close. When they were both playing in La Liga, it's clear who was the better player...Ronaldo. Neymar moving to a terrible league does not change that. Towards the end of the season we can talk, Neymar is only getting better whilst Ronaldo will decline that's clear to see.

Ronaldo has scored some beautiful goals somewhat recently outside of the box, accelerating, cutting in beauties. His bread and butter at this point is poaching he doesn't need to do the rest as he has got Isco and co doing it for him. He can focus on his best strength at this point of his career.

I don't know what they're aiming for tbh. If they wanted to chase down the top 6 they would stop selling us their best players.

Chelsea absolutely should have tried to get Vardy in the summer, I am sure they would have given us him as well. Major oversight that.

We look pathetic without Morata. Batshoes is somehow worse than having no striker at all. I appreciate Batshoes was frustrated with himself at the weekend but in all his starts in league games I think we've lost most of them.

But yeah, Leicester accept your role. They have had a rough start and will finish about 12th.

They're going down the Charlton route now. They need to be careful.

Agreed, scoring goals is the most important currency in football. More so than assisting them for the simple fact the other fella could still miss it. Therefore scoring goals in those quan****** makes him at least the 2nd best player on earth. Doesn't matter if they're from 30 yards out or an 2 cms.

Weirdly, logically, you would say the second most important currency would be stopping the ball going in when it really should have. I know this 'expected goals' stat is now being used in some places but it is difficult to quantify.

In reality goalkeepers are probably severely undervalued. I feel I can see it because I watch the overrated Teeeboo every week. But if you compare him to a real stud like De Gea then you can see the real value of a top dog. And Courtouis is, wrongly, in my opinion thought of as a top goalkeeper, he isn't. He rarely makes any good saves and botches some routine ones.

That Dea Gea save against Liverpool that he made with his foot. That is basically a goal isn't it? With any other keeper in the world apart for the Big German that is just a goal. That shot goes in against Chelsea 1000/1000 times with Teeboo in goal.

De Gea is one of the form players on the planet.

            • Chelsea probably should've loaned Batshuayi and kept Tammy the boy is tearing **** up
Batshuayi would benefit from a loan he can't play as a loan striker and his confidence is shot right now

                D. Silva consistently brilliant, KDB has his off days where nothing comes off.

How long till Ronaldo falls out of 'top 3' debates? Guy looks to be in major decline now.
LMFAO... major decline.. talk about showing hatred.. jealous City will never have a player on Ronaldo level? will win the ballon dor again this year..

Last season won the CL.. league.. Euro.. top goalscorer 5 years in a row in Cl.. scored vital goals in quarter.. semis.. final last year.. past his best doe.. not a top 3 player doe..

You do realize Zidane moved him more central to play as a striker right? and strikers get evaluated on goals scored.. Ronaldo arguably had his best season in terms of how vital his goals in the CL were..

Meanwhile David Silva.. and KDB were bombing in the PL with city

Cant wait for United and Madrid to destroy City this season

Tbf, City are now playing football at a level that if you don't appreciate them you can't really like football.

El Fenomeno is gonna be unbearable isn't he?

Chelsea look like they got a creditable 1 nil loss, lol. Albeit, then the worst team in the league also beat us well.

                    • English teams are back tbh.

All because of several men's dreams and several hundred million pounds, and the return to this galaxy of both Barca and Real Madrid.

                      An English team wins it.
