That's the official reason, sent home for disciplinary reasons though. He turned up late for the flight out so probably because of that.

No he wasn't - I have sources deep within Melwood that have informed me of this particular fact.

Roma legend Francesco Totti slams Higuain & Pjanic for moving to Juventus

            Francesco Totti slams modern footballers

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport today published an exclusive interview with Roma legend Francesco Totti in which he spoke about modern footballers obsession with money.

Considered one of the best footballers in the world for the majority of his career, Francesco Totti has stayed at Roma despite offers from the likes of Real Madrid.

Former teammate Miralem Pjanic and former Napoli legend Gonzalo Higuain aren’t going to enjoy reading these comments. They’ll take solace in their mountains of cash.

“Footballers today are a bit like nomads,” Totti said. “They follow money and not their hearts. Maybe that is the difference between me and this generation.

“There are not many sportsmen now who follow their hearts. If I had only thought about money I would have left Roma 10 years ago. For me it’s about passion, not about money.

“I have always loved these colours and always wanted to put on this shirt.”

“The sport has changed a lot,” noted Totti. “Now at the centre is money. Players change teams more often, usually to make more money. It’s more a business than a passion.

“Fans go to the stadium to have fun and see players who they love – they expect not to be betrayed.

“Look at what has happened now with Higuain from Napoli to Juventus. It’s a disaster.

“But it is quite normal now that when a player arrives in Italy and has a chance to go to another team to make more money. It’s a problem of mentality, there aren’t many foreigners like Maradona."

            • Sorry but Juve went full ****** paying 90m for bloody higuian.. jesus.. You wouldn't pay anymore then 30-40m for a 30yr old striker if u had any sense..

Not like they need another striker.. and is he going to push them over the edge and win the CL? really doubt it.. Seems like they are forced to sell Pogba now for 100m

It's absolutely ridiculous what Juve have gone and done. Don't get me wrong, Higuain is a good striker, but he's no Suarez.

It's hard to imagine Arsenal getting a decent striker when this transfer activity is going on. We need to buy a diamond in the rough... and pray

                • Higuain just broke the all time season scoring record in Serie A. Juve got exactly what they wanted and needed.

£75million is what you have to expect in the current market.

They lose Pogba and add Higuain, Pjanic, Pjaca, Benatia, Dani Alves - they are very much positioned for another Champions League run.

why everybody wrote higuain is 30 years old? he is not!! he's 28, 29 in this december.

personally i also think 90 mil is very overprice, i rate higuain 70-75 mil even in this inflated market, never thought Marotta gonna pay the buy-out clause. personally i prefer cavani for 45-50 mil but this move have another significant, now juve has the best roma's player in Pjanic and The best Napoli's player(higuain). Roma and napoli are direct rival for serie a title in the last 5 years. it's double edged sword tho their move clearly weaken roma and napoli but the money their receive could make the better teams.

And jUve is indeed need a striker, Morata back to real and zaza in the brink of move to wolfsburg or EPL that's only left juve with dybala and mandzukic.

Which is why Serie A is garbage and nobody watches it.

Let's have it real, it's basically the Carling Cup these days.
