Or you could read scholarly documents about the Council of Nicaea. Certainly going to be better than a nineteen minute "Godtube" video.

They left them out because they were not written by the people who's name they bear. They also were not written by eyewitnesses to the events and were not written until after the eyewitnesses were dead. They are fakes.

          How do you know that?
I thought none of the gospels were actually written by Mathew, Mark, Luke or John.

The gospels WERE written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John or they would have been rejected.

You really need to watch that video above that I posted regarding how the Bible was compiled. It explains the criteria for being in the Bible. One of them was that it had to be written by an eyewitness to the events.

It says, the books making up the New Testament were 'officially' named in 397AD...thats almost 4 hundred years after Jesus's death.
So all that time people all over the world were dying without knowing Jesus or being 'saved'. Did they go to hell? He had no influence over their lives.
Surely God could have simply contacted everyone instantly without the need for men to compile a handwritten book?
                Makes no sense to me.

Yje criteria also is strange. The books would only be accepted if they had been used continuously by the church. But what if the church ignored books that were true all that time?
And the books had to "cohere and agree with accepted and undisputed scripture". But what kind of reasoning is that? What if the books that were rejected didnt agree with 'accepted' scripture because accepted scripture was wrong? And 'undisputed'? It seems they already had their minds made up about what happened. And the books had to fit in to that. Doesnt seem objective at all.
Plus, the books had to be 'self evident' that they were inspired by God, based on how they changed peoples lives. But people are inspired by many other Holy and non-holy books all over the world. So again, it doesnt seem the criteria makes much sense.
And a guy named Eusebuis decided that certain books were frauds. But because they didnt match the criteria.
Strange how God would let men make all these vital decisions.

The video got super boring after that.

If you search the net there is a big dispute amoung Biblical scholars as to whether the gospels were written by who they were named after.

                • John was an uneducated Aramaic fisherman.

The book of John was written in highly sophisticated Greek written 90 years after the fact.

Which is why New Testament scholars reject the idea that any of the gospels were written by eyewitnesses.

                  • Entire thread is full of lies and propaganda.

There's only one way into the "pearly" gates. Get on your knees for Jesus. *wink*

For example A Catcher in the Rye inspired me to hate JD Salinger for ever because it is such a fucking awful book.
