SNES: Chrono Trigger or Wizardry V: The Heart of Maelstrom
PS1: FFVII (I spent damn near an entire summer doing this. Did so much damn Chocobo breeding too).
PS2: Gallop Racer 2001 (did over 100 years of horse racing/breeding over like 6-7 years).
360: Mass Effect series (I wish they had kept the format of 1 rather than going to a Gears of War clone but I loved the story and the galaxy).
PS4: None, they all suck ass. It is essentially a $400 roku box in my living room
Handheld: Pokemon series
PC: Everquest. One of the most expansive MMORPGs anyone had ever seen at the time. The entire experience of playing is one no MMO has been able to replicate since for me. I remember when quests would take weeks/months and you had to manually write down clues and figure out hints and puzzles. Sad that the people playing MMOs since have all gotten so much stupider that MMOs now have to tell you exactly where to go and what to do.
I don't know why that game hit me so hard, maybe because I was doing heavy drugs at the time and that influenced my experience, but the story, the gameplay, the characters, everything about it just consumed me.
Stalking in the shadows and taking out my enemies, I felt like an actual soldier in a game of war.
I felt like arnold in the predator when I was hunting down sniper wolf while she was hunting me down in that long ass boss battle that literally took me more than half an hour. Metal gear hands down has THE best most memorable boss battles.
And then that climax and the incredible ending just sealed the whole damn deal. By the end I felt like I just had a 40 hour long orgasm. At the time there was no other game like it.
