  • Why is nobody asking for a rematch? Lopez/Lomo

Lopez won, without a doubt, 7-5 or even 8-4 in my books, but it's not as if Lomo didn't close stronger and not as if Lopez blew him out of the water.

Lopez does deserve all the credit in the world, no doubt about that.

I'm just curious why nobody thinks a rematch would be worth it - surely it would be a different fight, with either Lomo continuing on as he left the later rounds or Lopez stepping up a gear and even stopping Lomo.. Unless Loma himself doesn't feel like he wanted it, but with most wording being "he started too late", why not start earlier next time and make it a better show.

No clause and there’s no tellin if Teo even stays at 35. Thats why. Let him and his fam enjoy the win first.

      Fight was not competitive.

Cuz people dislike Loma due to some of his extreme fans and the media hyping him up over the top so they’re satisfied with him losing even if it was close!

Fight deserves an instant rematch cuz I scored it a draw, credit to Teo for salvaging it in the 12th but even that was close IMO as both men were hurt!

It wasn't a draw, definitely not, 8 rounds to 4 or 7 to 5, but I wonder if this was an American vs American or Mexican, if it would be any different.

I am starting to think this is some sort of "you are a Euro, you lost, bad luck"..

I would think watching that fight over 12 rounds, that Lopez would NOT want a rematch (not saying he has to), as Loma came on much stronger in the later rounds, which most probably would be the way a rematch would start.

This match kinda reminds me of the whole Leo Santa Cruz vs Frampton, in which Frampton won, but lost a close rematch, so bad luck, you don't get a 3rd fight.

1st theirs no need for one their was a clear winner, 2nd boxing is tired of rematches. Lets fighters go on and rebuild and rematch down the line not a immediate re-do. 3rd Loamchenko and toprank actively seeked out the no rematch clause so its hard to feel sorry for a side who didnt want one to begin with and now that it didnt go the way they all thought they want to change the rules its kinda of a sour taste thing.

Teo likely moving up or fighting once more and then moving up.

Natural move for Loma seems to be moving back down.

Competitive but crossroads fight; each guy will be headed in a different direction.

I really don't think Lopez would give him the rematch. #1) he knows the fight was close so why risk losing the belts. #2) his face looked like skeletor at the weigh-ins. #3) he wants Loma to become less relevant, so he can be the new cash cow.

We may have watched Loma get old overnight and his prime has passed. I've always contended that the only thing could beat Loma was FatherTime. A lot of guys on here thought he was already on the down slide, before the Lopez fight...

More interest in other match ups now that Loma has lost to Teo.

Let’s do Teo vs Haney or Tank soon.

Let Loma do another fighter and then if they both win maybe a rematch.

But let’s start getting other fighters in the mix now.

                    Lopez is too big
                    Loma is too small
                    Let them move on

I would like Loma to redeem himself or get revenge, but imo, a rematch would only do more harm to him than help him and his career. Lopez is just too strong and he has underrated skills and IQ. Plus he’s very young and still improving

Loma still has what it takes to be a top 130 lber if he goes down to his natural weight. Maybe he can revisit 135 later
