Hi all
I'm 38, have been training for fitness for four years (including reasonably hard sparring), and have my first fight in a corporate event, May 2014
I'm very interested in peaking / periodization, as I feel too many fighters I train with don't take this into account ... they basically train the same way (and intensity) almost up to fight night ....
As I have nearly nine months to prepare (!) I was thinking about some sort of periodization plan, with two peaks - one just before Xmas, and the other obviously on fight night
Is there anyone out there using this type of training? - where you spend a fixed number of weeks focussing on certain aspects, then progressing to another, and so on - and finally having a 'de-loading' period to allow you to be 100% recovered from training?
