I have noticed that with the variety of styles that come through my gym and experiences that gym members have had, I have come across quite a few different punch numbering systems. (1= jab, 2= cross, Etc.) Many of them take into account of course, the style of boxing, IE in-boxing, out-boxer Etc. But also where a person has trained, for example a fellow out of Catskill still knows and uses the Cus D'Amato system. What caught my attention was the application and omition of the rear-hook, which I understand is an "impure" punch and not considered good technique by some trainers and considered important to others.
