Even today's top boxing equipment brands, their top quality gloves I don't think are as good. Mainly, I think it's the quality of the leather they use. Even if they say it's top quality leather, it's just not the same.
Winning brand for example. Some of you may already know that I'm a big backer of their brand. However, the quality of leather they use on their gloves are not so good. I just purchased my Winning's about 3-2 1/2 months ago, and already there's a small tear on it, although a microscopic one, it's still too early for those things to happen to a $260-5 glove.
I had some Ringside gloves way back when and I had the d&mn thing for 5 years. And I use to box 6 times a week!
