Yo i sparred for the first time since my last fight last July and things where good for the first round and a half.. I only have 4 fights and a record of 3-1..
Anyway i fight southpaw but am a natural righty, and my new trainer told me to try and fight orthodox so i did and my right hand is a ****er, the left jab can use work **** the entire left hand arsenial can, but the right is ****ing insane and alot more effective back then up, it can deliver the KO blow, ward danger off and pop out like floyds...
now the only reason i fought southpaw in the first place was because it felt better throwing a jab as a lefty with the right then vice versca and was easier... Which was bad ****ing logic for me because easy in boxing doesnt exist, i was going into fights doing what was best for me, when i should have been doing what was best to win the fight, and i have learned this in 1 sparring session at my new gym then my entire 3 year Am boxing career.. and **** all im tryin to say is dont take the easy way out when fighting and learning to fight, what feels comfortable for you isnt always whats best, you may think you can fly but once you jump off the roof you better be willing to try something new if you survive the crash!
Now the reason i said it was only good for only a round in a half is because i re-injured my shoulders and am probley out for a while atleast til surgery i shoulda had a year ago...
