    Checking Out a New Gym

Going to check out another gym tomorrow. Called the number listed on the website, got some guy's cell. Told him I train at another gym but I had moved to the area. He told me not to come down tonight, saying to come tomorrow b/c he has to see anyone who's trained at another gym.

I'm not looking to start an inter-gym war; what are the odds he WON'T put me in the ring with his best to see what I've got?

I'm mostly thinking about switching just b/c it's not a class-type environment like my current gym; it's more like just a place with equipment, near my work, where I can work out. And the price is right. Like, a sixth of what I'm paying at my current gym ($20 vs. $120 per month.) I like the people and the trainers at my current gym; the commute, though, is killing me.

What should I expect and what is the etiquette, being an experienced (using the term loosely ) boxer "interviewing" the boss at a new gym?
