    Merged Pacquiao-Morales Threads

I was wondering what kind of fight Erik Morales would try to fight. The reason is that in the last fight he was talking about retirement and how he was about done with boxing. He took a long break and came back and signed a fight with Pac. But I believe that he realized that he was going to retire during his break. Pac was just easily the fight that would earn him the most money.

Erik Morales knew Pac was the better man so he just went along with the hype trying to tell people that he was feeling good and in great shape. I believe that he truely felt the opposite though. He got in shape and made weight to just simply fight for the money.

Erik was saying after the fight that he did the best he could and Pac just beat him but that usually isn't the way he is during a loss. Erik usually is trying to attack his loss but this time it was different.

This thread isn't to discredit Pac at all as I believe he came into the fight with even more skills than he has ever had. This thread also isn't to make Erik sound like a *****. This thread is to bring a real look into why the fight was the way it was.

I agree... I knew from the first couple of exchanges that Eric would not last long and it would be only a matter of time, although I was trying not to beleive it.

By the way... Morales also winks when he is sitting on the ground for the last time.

I agree with the threadstarter, I feel this fight for Erik was purely for financial reasons. There was no incentive for him to fight on and so he went out early. A lot of nutthuggers refuse to see what is in plain view.

Pacquiao is and was the fresher fighter before the fight even started, rewind to fight 2 and watch the last few rounds, they showed the decline and downfall of Morales who was just running on empty. Once you leave everything you have in the ring you can't gain that back for the next fight

Thanks for the real look on things... With xcaret and ferocity around, it is hard to find those.

Money. Bottom line. There was no reason for him to come back, got paid his $3mil + ppv (1mil orders+), he did good.

                  Props to Pacquiao

Pac will soon be the biggest name in boxing. His speed and power will attract mainstream fans, he doesn't even need to be American or speak English, he is just to damn exciting to not take notice.

I am a Morales fan and I was hoping Morales would pull it out, and I am definately proud of Eric, those were an explosive three rounds of boxing if I've ever seen them. So just like to say congratulations to Pacman fans.

man.. it was sad to see Erik fall like that but he went out on his shield and fought his heart out. His best days are behind him and pac looks unstoppable. He even did the Ali shuffle in the first round. Cant wait to see who he fights next.
