10 dollars is a big difference and alot of ppl would be turned off to paying 10 extra bucks more, reason why mma sales r higher in my opinion

I think it has alot to do with attracting people to the sport, the hardcore fans will pay $50 no problem, its lowering it enough to attract the casual and new viewers. I'm sure they had economists sit down and figure out that number. Most mma ppv's were like $30 anyway, weren't they?

      thats not the problem.

      this is:

PPV's are supposed to be EVENTS. Superfights that you forward to for years and years. HBO has destroyed that aspect of the PPV, and it makes the true PPV's (Hatton-Castillo, DLH-Mayweather) a lot less attracting.

Thats why when Showtime makes a fight PPV, u are immidiatly interested before hearing who is fighting. Showtime PPV's are events.

Same thing with UFC or MMA or whatever. They dont put out many PPV's, but when they do they are real events for the sport AND they are cheaper.
