Alphabet title's question?

The WBA belt has been around alot longer than the WBC belt and has been worn by great individuals throughout it's history. However for some reason the WBC is considered the more prestigious belt of the two. Why is that? Can anyone come up with a legitimate reason for this?

Basically the history of decision-making, regarding stripping champions has damned the WBA to low prestige. Age usually means respect; but history can be tarnished with enough idiocy.
