    Floyd is Too Small!!!!

Im the biggest Floyd fan there is but he is too small. He is definatly P4P the best out there and should get way more credit then he does for fighting at a much higher weight then he belongs. There is no fighter out there even close to doing that except for a couple of HW's.

Floyd only walks around at 149/150 but still fights at 147 while most of the guys in that division walk around at 165 and up. How come people dont give him props for that? Watching the fight tonight you could see that he clearly doesnt belong there. He can still fight at 135 if he wanted too and should be at 140.

I think 140 is probally his prime weight but maybe 135 during and after the N'Dou fight. You would have a hard time finding anyone in history who could beat him at 140. Chaves or whoever. His body even looked lean and perfect. At 147 he looks so small. Baldy was so big compared to him. Even though he was clearly easily winning, you could tell that the size was still a problem for him and sooner or later it will catch up to him.

If Hatton wasnt such a punk then they could fight at 140 right now and it would be a Super fight. Im actually starting to get worried about Floyd. Margarito, Oscar, or whoever you name are not even close to him on a P4P level but they have a great chance of beating him just because he really doesnt belong at 147, let alone 154. I do beleive that he hurt his hand against Baldy. Baldy has a rock head. When Floyd was landing those hard shots you could tell that Floyd's hand was losing the battle just as much as Baldy's head. Baldy also pushed him around a little on the inside.

Now Floyd is strong and knows how to fight. Hatton & Cotto are much bigger & stronger then him at 140 but they wont be able to push him around or anything at that weight because he is a legitimate 140 pounder. At 147 he can only put on a couple of pounds. It would probally take him another 2 years to even have a chance to be a legitimate WW and I dont think he can ever be a 154 pounder. No way he can get up there. Oscar would outweigh him by 20 pounds on fight night and if he did get a few guys to help him put on weight then it wont be real and he would probally be real slow. He's not that tall so the weight doesnt have much places to go.

I like him to beat everyone out there but it also wouldnt surprise me if he lost to a Margarito, Shane, or Oscar. Most think Shane is his hardest fight but I actually think he is easier then the other 2. He's strong but he doesnt really force his weight on you. He just uses his punches for power. I think Oscar & e****ally Margarito could put some weight on him.

Floyd also seemed slower to me tonight. He's definatly not going to be as fast as he was at 130 and he's definatly not going to be as fast as he was at age 23 but he can still be very fast. However, your faster at your natural weight. He would still be alot faster at 140 then at 147. I also think he's starting to age some and his reflexes are still great but not as sharpe as they were. I think he may be feeling this some also and this may be a reason why he wants to retire soon. He doesnt want to get old in the ring and get his ass whooped.

If I was him I would definatly have another fight at 147 before I go to 154 but Oscar will bring the money & fame so I think he will fight him next at 54 but I really fear for him. I would really hate to see him lose just because of him being too small and because he's fighting at a much higher weight then he should be at. To me this is old skool stuff and people dont give him enough credit for it. Most guys now have to lose 30 pounds for fights but he is fighting at his actual weight and beating guys much bigger then him. If he beats Oscar, Shane, or Margarito then he is a straight up beast and a All Time Great without a doubt

It may be too much of a reach for him but I'd love to see the fights between him Mosley and De La Hoya. Meh ... Margarito.

        He looked good to me.
The only thing I had a problem with was him throwing one shot at a time.
What ever happened to his combinations?
I mean, he was never the type to throw a 8 punch flurry, but he usually three those 3-4 punch combos all the time.
        He used no combination punching.
If he keeps that up, someone will eventually time and catch him.

I just saw a clip of margarito training for his next fight and it's not a good idea for floyd to get into the ring with tony

Floyd would beat Margarito at 147 IMO if they fought. I hear Floyd never was a big combination guy he was just really accurate. He still is very accurate.

Nice post and K comeing your way.

I agree 100% in what you say. Mayweather is too small for 147 and even 154. He is nearly the only one at 135 that went up on wieght successfully, most are either still fighting a the wieghtclass or force out.

He too his size, speed ( as you go up you slow down) and power most of all but he he still has the boxing ability to take him through and that is one of the thing that makes Mayweathe special.

maybe someday people will say he was better than SRL.

I agree he's small for 154. 147, I think he could do well(which he has).

I think Floyd's best weight combined of quickness and power is 140. I think no one would really have a good chance at beating him at 140.

                  I agree

He's not going to knock guys out @ 147 or 154.
He does what he has to do to win, some consider that boring.

I don't think he should have gone above 140 and I'm sure he could still make the weight.

Mayweather at a lower weight was just a water'd down version, he belongs at 140-147, 154 maybe too much. He looks on par with other fighters at those weights like Zab..if he loses he can always fight them again. Sugar Ray Robinson fought Lamotta 6 times, let him fight at a high weight like a man.
