When's he fighting Taylor? The article linked says he's trying to schedule Manfredo

The IBF has a history of stripping the best fighter in the division for not wanting to fight meaningless fights. The worst part is that they are not consistent in how they handle these situations. Look at how they pampered Byrd and did anything Byrd and Don King wanted when he held their belt.

It's not scheduled, of course, but Taylor has said that Ouma is his last fight at middle. And now Calzaghe is with HBO, so you do the math.

Hey Joe if your looking for a promoter give me a call!

If you were Joe's promoter scenario...

          1) Enough of the bull**** #1 contenders
          2) Stay away from Kessler for a while longer
          3) Offer the moon to get Taylor or Wright in the ring
          4) Manfredo would be a nice prize as well both in terms of exposure and money.

If you are a boxing fan thats wants the best fights...

          1) Enough of the bull**** #1 contenders
          2) Get in the ring with Kessler
          3) Get in the ring with Taylor

Frank Warren is apiece of trash and Joe is a ****head outside the ring, just get something worthwhile done.

With that said I dont think anyone in the world beats Joe Calzaghe.

Exactly. It's a done deal. And pretty much the only reason the whole Manfredo beatdown might happen in order to give him some more exposure to the US public.

I don't think there's any need for the mismatch beforehand though. Taylor vs Calzaghe at MSG is big enough already in itself.

The Danes should be happy anyway - Kessler's tied up on a mandatory which he isn't going to break and can then pick up the IBF belt against some random. So he can then have the three big belts and can have some leverage against the winner of Calzaghe-Taylor which I suspect would happen by the end of 2007. Every one's a winner.

Calzaghe once broke his hand while wiping his ass.
              True story.

Kesslers mandatory (Librado Andrade) is going to give him hell.

If this fight is not televised in the states I will beat my wife.

Yes Taylor expressed an interest in fighting Calzaghe and Taylor seems to be able to get people in the so that does look like a good alternative to Kessler (The winner of course should face Kessler afterwards).

Manfredo or Stieglitz doesn't matter. The only difference is the IBF belt.
