Orlando Saldio Tests Positive For Steroids

    http://www.*********.com/danife08.htm

One more boxer victimized by these phony drug tests. The phoniest one of all is the test for nandrolone. We know it is phony because more than 50% of the positive test results in any sport are for nandrolone, and this is despite the fact that it is well known that the residual metabolites (19-noradrosterone) last for over a year. In other words we are supposed to believe that an athlete will chose nandrolone which can easily be detected, in preference for the many drugs which not not be detected. Yeah, right! Although boxers don't get random tests, Olympic athletes do and they also test positve for nandrolone on a regular basis. Isn't it about time the fraud of drug testing was exposed?

Nandrolone is the most common of all the steroids because it acts like testosterone but on a greater degree. Although it is possible for it to show up in the urine in greater numbers than allowed due to Creatine, it is unlikely to happen. Most of the times it shows up either because it was directly ingested, it is a by-product of other anabolic steroids, or the person has consumed meat of an animal treated with the steroid (in which case he receives the effects without knowing but he is still responsible for what he puts in his body).

The easiest way for a fighter to not test positive is to ensure he eats organic meats and eggs and does not take illegal steroids. These should cover the athlete from all fronts.

Salido did look a little funny to me that night, tho, and I told my g/f as we were watching the introductions that it would not surprise me to hear he tested positive after the fight. I could just see something that wasn't right. So, I tend to believe that this test is legit.
