Warren: "No Deal Yet For Calzaghe-Manfredo"

It appears that a proposed bout between IBF/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe and Contender star Peter Manfredo, Jr. is not a done deal. [details]

IMO, Peter Manfredo is an upcoming 'star' in the boxing world because of all the hype that ESPN has generated for him, but I don't think that he's ready for someone of Joe Calzaghe's caliber. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing this matchup and think that Manfredo would put up a good fight against Joe.

I used to defend Calzaghe against Jang over Kessler. I am tired of Cazalghe and his bull**** opponents. Does he honestly think it is better to fight a opponent who lost to Alfonso Gomez, a guy with the record of (15 Wins, 3 Losses & 2 Draws) or to fight with a undefeated Champion who holds two major belts?

The fact is he can make about the same amount of money against either. The advantage of facing Manfredo is that he will get an easy intro to the American market.

Perhaps it is a fact he can make about the same amount of money against some blow-up Middleweight fighter, but i will call Calzaghe a coward and a chicken

I seriously wonder how it is like to be a Calzaghe fans these days. Please tell me Calzaghe fans. I think he is a great boxer. But it really really really looks like he is Ducking Kessler. Is he really scared of him ?
You can ask me how it is like to be a Kessler fan if, when ever Calzaghe beats Kessler. No problem. But right now this situation really looks bad for Joe Calzaghe. He is loosing respect almost anywhere.

I think the next interview with calzaghe will look like this

No... no..!!!! I DON'T want FOUR belts...!! no, I don't. I have never ever said that my ambition was to have four. Kessler has the other two so my maximum goal has to be the two and I have achieved that goal.
Am I going to LHW? Well, if I cannot avoid Kessler, I surely am.. but so far I have managed to meet Manfredo.. so as long as I can somehow argue that I don't have to fight Kessler - I will of course stay at SMW. Do you ****ing think I hid in Wales with only the WBO belt for 9 years just to give it up? Well, ok.. if I have to fight Kessler I will - but otherwise no way

why should calzaghe fight for 1.5mill when he can get double in any other big american fight?

if calzaghe does beat kessler, i hope it shuts u up.
