I think if Holyfield wants to win he is going to have to fight the best fight he can and hope that Oquendo is slightly off tonight. IMO Oquendo is just too slick for an over the hill Holyfield. IF Holyfield has any chance he has to attack the body and hope to slow Oquendo down late. Since I think Oquendo will take most of the early rounds regardless of strategy, I think Holyfield needs a late round stoppage to win. He has to remember to conserve some of his own energy so he can make the late push. On the other hand he may hae absorbed too much punishment early to make a late run.

So in a nutshell, Holy will try and wear down Fres and go for a late KO. Will it work? Who knows.
Exactly - that's what Holyfield's gameplan has to be - get close to Fres, tie him up, bully him, butt him every chance you can and throw low blows and rabbit punches like... ...well, like Evander Holyfield. I think he actually has a decent chance if he does what just seems to come naturally to him.

Forget that boxing crap - Holy can't beat Fres at that.

Come on now, this is the Holy Warrior we are talking about here, the only gameplan he needs is to believe in god and himself and he will take good old Fast Fres in no time.

Forget the late runs, Holyfields gone to well too many times and now it unfortunately I think is dried up. IMO, his best chance to win tonight is to establish himself early, attack the body, and try for the early stoppage.

His gameplan should be to lose in as most embarassing fashion as possible so he realizes how shot he is and retires while he still has a few braincells left.

Yeah I know, I just wish the old bat would realize what 99% of the fans do.

This is clearly the path of least resistance but I just think that Fres is too fast and slick early on...he tends to slow down later in the fight and I agree that it simply may be too late.
