    moving into a gym possible???

not that I'm planning on moving into one so i can train non stop day after day, but someone on this website said something like you can move into a gym and become a world class fighter. Is this true?? do alot of people dedicated to boxing move into gyms in hopes of becoming world champion??

In very limited incidents its been possible. The Gramercy Gym in New York, where it used to be before becoming a casuality of the inner city remodeling, was where Cus D'Amato lived with his dog Champ. A few gyms have rooms that you can live in if necessary, but the dynamic of the sport has changed drastically.

usually the only reason a fighter lives in a gym is so that they're trainer can keep an eye on him and keep him out of trouble, especially if they have a drug or alcohol problem. i'm sure thats not the only reason but i've heard of that happening

Im assuming a gym is not near where you live or you don't have a place to stay. When Jesus Chavez, came back to the states, he arrived at a gym, the owner told him he could live and train their, the rest is history, with a documentary and a book and possably a movie out later, about the life of Jesus Chavez.
