De La Hoya is still the face of boxing, but he will retire. Mayweather is gonna retire after one more fight(which I hope not and don't believe). After all that, who will become the face of boxing?

I don't see Manny Pacquiao as a star type guy and he's not American. Winky isn't the most exciting guy besides his last fight, and he's getting old. I'm not sure how long Mosley will keep going.

Anyone think Jermain Taylor could reach that high status? Jermain fights the best competition, and he seems to be a nice guy. He is also still undefeated. What do you think?

If Taylor becomes the face of boxing, I will revert to my old habit of watching only classic fights.

I agree he is a nice guy and fights the best out there. I just dont like to see him fight, I dont like his "style".

btw, even if mayw. does not retire. Taylor has a better chance of being the new face of boxing:

Floyd does not knock ppl out but humiliates his opponents, in a way which disgusts UFC fans and wannabe boxing fans.
Jermain is very busy (and sloppy, but the public above would not notice) and does not win big fights by a margin, leaving potential for rematches and some marketing power to his opponents.

Floyd damages his image everytime he speaks, and by taking fights at different classes leaves himself open to critics on his choice of opposition ("I want him to fight Hatton" "No, Margarito!" "are you crazy?? he has to fight spadafora or he is a bum (j/k )"
Jermain is a well composed gentleman who has fought at one class so far, and is taking all the best at 160.

I don't think Mayweather is the face of boxing now, or second behind DLH either...

Tyson is still the face of boxing, if we're honest.

Skeletor will be the next face of boxing, he'll have a trilogy with He-Man and for a while that's all there will be until Optimus Prime turns pro and destroys Skeletor for the unified championship.
