When he wins, i'd rather see him retire on top. But if he fights again, i belive he is going to the lightweight division and probably fight Raheem again, even thought Raheem already lost. Morales already said, he will not fight Barrera again, in his words, "let him do his thing, i'll do mine. "

Should he lose....I think he should continue to fight. Nobody is going to beat this man unless your name is Pac or Barrera, there's still so many fights out there for him.

I think he should retire when he wants to. Also I think that he will be game for this fight. I feel he can win if he just uses his jab. Just like in the first fight he was more effective jabbing and then mixing it up. I don't think he will be knocked out. He will be in much better condition. I favor him in the third fight for sure if he fights smart. This could possibly be the fight of the year.

I think he should continue fighting. He is still young and still has what it takes to be champion again.Valero and Guzman fights will be a good match-up. Besides we fight fans would benefit from having Morales still around. Should he goes on to lose against Pacquiao, bear in mind the case of De la Hoya. He lost twice against Shane Mosley but nevertheless went on and gave us good fights (well in the case of B-Hop fight, it depends on one's point of view of course). He pummeled the trash talkin Mayorga to submission to the delight of all his fans.

I'm a big fan of Pacquiao and Morales as well so I want them to have more fights after this BIG ONE.

morales himself has stated he only has a couple of fights left in him.....i dont see him retiring after pac because even if he loses there is no way that's the way he would want to go out....im sure he will head to lightweight again and maybe challenge juan diaz....

Erik Morales Current record, Fight History and Fighter Profile

48 wins, 34 of these by knockout, and 4 losses, three of which were by judicial decision, the fourth by TKO. Morales was 41-0 before suffering his first (controversial) loss to Marco Antonio Barrera, and went 50 fights before losing to anyone other than Barrera. Of his three conquerers, Morales has beaten two of them (Barrera & Pacquiao), and has yet to fight Zahir Raheem a second time.

Morales is called by his fans a people's champion while critics accuse him of fighting down to his opponents, because he often goes to war with lesser opponents to please the crowd, instead of utilizing his superior boxing skills to win a less exciting fight. One of Erik's trainers remarked, "Put him in the ring with a taxi driver, and he'll make a war out of it."

Upcoming Fight (11.18.2006): Erik Morales (48-4, 34 KOs) versus Manny Pacquiao (41-3-2, 32 KOs)

Bob Arum announced the third match would take place, resulting from a rematch clause Morales had for the second fight.

I hope he retires no matter what.

in his physical prime and with his boxing abilities, he already managed to get in wars he should not have been in. I can only imagine how he would fight when he becomes slower.

I dont want Morales to be seriously hurt. I dont want to listen to him slurring in 10 years (athough I am afraid the damage has already been done), that would kill me. He has given so much to boxing, a great champ with a great heart

Where did you get this from?

I belive when he wins he will either retire or go after a Raheem fight or one of the champions at lightweight. He had said, before the second pacuqioa fight that he has to take the second fight, if not he would be in an immediate rematch with Raheem and that he was going to rematch Raheem. But Raheem has lost already so who knows.
