Jose Antonio Rivera Turns Down Calzaghe

I asked Rivera if he would consider moving up to 168 to rumble with Joe. This is what Jose had to say:

"I say no because I am not a natural 168 pounder, and plus what is fighting me going to do for Calzaghe? Most critics will blast him for fighting a smaller opponent and if, by chance, I beat him, that will tarnish his reputation. It’s a lose-lose situation for Calzaghe, but thanks for the gesture".

So what.........He should stay where he is comfortable not move up 2 wieght classes.........But He could have said that instead of making it out like he would'nt want to fight because he cares what people would think about Calzaghe should he beat him which he would'nt.........

Rivera lost to Collazo at WELTERWEIGHT. Calzaghe has talked about going to LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT to fight Johnson, Woods, Hopkins.

Why would you ask such a question to Rivera?

Yeah, it does sound like a pretty ridiculous question, Rivera must have been like WTF? When interviewing a fighter, limit your challenge questions to the 3 divisions around him, one down, where he's at, and one up.

          Calm down chaps.

I know this fight will never materialise in a million years. I was testing to see if my question would:

even get published, let alone Rivera even bothering to answer it.

Props to the Rivera and the website for doing both. Its not everyday fans can get to the chance to put questions to world champions.

In anycase, its still an exclusive

Hmm. Not entirely sure its that much of a silly question. Look at Mayweather. The dude started at 130. Then there is DLH. Anyway, as I said, it was a test to see if it would actually get onto the website.

            Kind Regards
            Deek.

That was a ****** ass question and the fact that your mentioning DLH and Mayweather in the same topic as Jose Rivera is just as dumb, dumb all around and dumb topic for a dumb question. No disrespect to you personally.

You make it sound like Calzaghe is calling Rivera out.

You asked him that? It's pretty funny.
