What are your thoughts on this guy? At first I absolutely hated him, I think my hostility had to do with the fact that I've been listening to Lampley for so long, it was hard to accept a "new" guy into the broadcasting team.

Upon further inspection and hearing him call the Calzaghe vs. Bika fight, I think he's a pretty damn good commentator. So long as he stays away from Larry Marchant and his flask of "fight night" brand Whiskey.....

Generally that's been the impression of everybody I've talked to about him. Everybody seemed to hate him at first and bitched a fit, I know I did. Then we just got used to him very quickly I guess.

you're first instinct is usually correct. in this case i'd certainly agree with that old saying.

i'm sticking with my gut on this one.

I like Kellerman because he truly loves boxing. Were guys like Merchant and Lampley do it for the paycheck. If Kellerman didn't have a job in boxing, no doubt he would be on here everyday posting. I remember watching him on Letterman in 1991 about his local access show in New York at the time talking about the upcoming Foreman-Holyfield fight. He is a true student of the game.

At first I absolutely hated him, too, but after due reflection I now realize that media macha daddy Kellerman's little surviving bug-eyed junkie nepotism is even more hateful than I originally thought.
