.....Wlad was on the verge of superstardom years ago and is knocking at the door again. If he takes over the heavies and unifies he could become a household name.

I believe Vitali Klitscko sold out the Garden when he fought Danny Williams. Huge supporters came and added to the amount to fill the Garden. I wouldn't doubt Wlad has a huge draw here, especially when his supporters will come over seas as they did for Vitali. Of all the heavies out there, I think Wlad is still the most intriguing one. Sure he has a glass chin, though that adds excitement(ala Cotto). He can hit hard as **** as evident by his KOs, and he has nice boxing skills for a man his size. I really hope he can continue putting his broken pieces back together because it'll make for a great story in the end. Sometimes, it takes KO losses to see what makes a great fighter.

How did you not realize the Klitschkos were big names? Vitali was cheered and Lewis booed after their fight and Wlad is probably the most popular fighter in europe at the moment, at least in eastern europe. There are die hard fans there who fly over here to watch his fights.

If Wlad hadn't been derailed by Sanders, he would have eclipsed Lennox Lewis for popularity among the common sports fan. I think he still has it in him, as Pacman said, if he can unify the title.

Wladimir could be if he dusts Brock in this fight next week. If it's close or he loses, I think Wlad has no shot at being a popular fighter.

never seen a klitscko fight live on TV or in Person, and have only seen 2 that were in english.

Never really payed attention to the crowd, and i just started following the heavyweights about 6 months ago, could never get into them before then. Starting to get interesting again i guess

I gotcha. Yeah they were really getting a lot of exposure in magazines in the early 2000's, especially Wladimir. He was then seen as the heir apparent to Lewis's crown.
