agreed, briggs is nothing special, but sultan has been exposed as a limited fighter. austin was timing sultan the whole fight and made him afraid to engage and briggs is much better at it than austin was.

That is the complete opposite of how he looked in his last fight. I guess you could put anybody in with Briggs and they would look like Kassim Ouma.

Sultan's going to have a hard time getting inside on Briggs with the reach and size disadvantage. Sultan could win if he makes Shannon work hard enough and moves his head. But I'd favor Shannon if fights the right gameplan, it's his fight to win or lose.

that wont be the problem for sultan. briggs doesnt snap his jab and use his reach, sultan wont have a problem finding briggs,,,,its just what may happen when briggs connects that could be the problem for him

You guys really think so lowly of Sultan because of the draw with Austin? My opinion of him hasn't changed much; the difference is I think a lot more highly of Austin than I did before. Let's put it this way, I think Austin would decision Briggs using his reach (Briggs is used to having a reach advantage), superior timing, and conditioning if they fought now. Austin isn't that bad, his style isn't pretty but it's effective. His chin and power are solid and proven.

Wait until Austin fights again and you'll all see that he's better than he looks.

If McCline could UD Briggs, so can Austin.

I hope Sultan wins, but I do think it is a dangerous fight and Sultan needs to fight smart.

i'd go with ibragimov but just by a slight margin. i thought lyakhovich would drown briggs late but i was wrong. sultan is much more aggressive than sergei, but he might also get caught with those excellent left hook counters and right hands coming in.

I agree,,,if he comes in out of shape like he did against austin,,,then its a 50/50 fight. if he comes in at 220 as he did against whitaker then I think he stops briggs mid to late rounds. would be an interesting fight
