Did the clock stop in the 12th? (Sergei-Briggs)

I did not notice this last night but it's being discussed on another forum. Apparently when Sergei was knocked down for the first time, or at some point in the 12, the clock stopped, making the round longer than 3 minutes. If this is true, it could have had a huge effect on the outcome of this fight.

Possibly, but was there anything else that happened in the 12th round which required the clock to be stopped? IE. the tape on the glove came lose etc?

I haven't seen the fight yet.

No, no events of the sort. If the clock did indeed stop, and I didn't notice it personally, it wasn't supposed to. This is something that needs to be looked into, in all fairness.

It did stop, and there will be a mention of it in tomorrow's "Fighting Words" column.

That's the first I've heard of it.....though, I thought time had slowed dramatically throughout the whole fight: could have swore Hiro, from "Heroes" was pulling a fast one.

If the official clock stopped then there could be a problem but if the Showtime clock display stopped then that has nothing to do with the outcome.

I don't think the official clock stopped though because I think I heard the bell ring as the ref waved the fight off.

But I like that idea, in a knockdown the clock should stop.
