Why do you think Shane would do better than Oscar? And what part of LI are you from?
Shane is quicker and has faster hands. I just think a fast fighter would do better. Oscar isn't a walk in the park at all though. Also a plus for Oscar is that Floyd Sr. is training him.
I just can't see DLH being able to do anywhere near as much as Sugar Shane...Oscar looked kind of horrible to me against Sweet Pea and Floyd may be even a better defender and surely a better puncher than Whittaker. Shane would be a much more difficult fight for Floyd. I think he would win both just about as easy as he did tonite...he was very impressive to me and looked almost unbeatable and by far more skilled than any fighter I have seen in a long time. Tonite was a starnge night though two wins Willams & Mayweather, both lopsided fights that were impressive form a punching perspective and the clear winners actually came off looking kind of bad in the eyes of the crowd. That's strange.
I agree. His post was very weird. He just sounds like someone who wants Floyd to get his ass whooped. Usally when you make a thread like this you always say why you think the guy will win. He just basically wants Floyd to lose and probally hopes that anyone does it
No, i dont hope just anybody beats Floyd. If Baldy won it would not be as much as a surprise to me as it would if Floyd lost to Margarito. Baldy was THE champion, i thought if anyone has a chance, why not him. Mayweather just didnt look as good tonight as he did against Judah. I just picture Oscar in that fight whooping his ass, and i dont even really like Oscar
From a boxing stand point, can you please point out particularly why you feel this way? I saw absolutely nothing wrong with Floyd's performance tonight. His was very fast, he boxed beautifully, his footwork was masterful, his defense was even better, and he punched very accurately.
What in Floyd's performance made you feel that way? The fact that he couldn't KO someone who had a rock for a head?
First, props to Floyd for beating Baldy. I knew he would win, but hoped Baldy would somehow pull it off. Now for the facts. Floyds performance was not impressive at all. Despite all the hype, everyone knew floyd would coast. Coast he did, but he did not show me in the least bit that he is the best pound for pound. Baldy is not as strong as everyone makes him out to be, and if/when he fights De la Hoya, he will lose. Nobody will change my mind on that. He fought good tonight, but he showed me that anyone with power as a welter that could actually can box will beat him. Oscar is that anyone.
I would suggest that the old addage, "styles make fights" would play into an eventual De La Hoya-Mayweather showdown. Floyd looked fantastic against Baldomir and employed the right gameplan, where Baldomir did not.
Oscar-Floyd, I think, would resemble De La Hoya-Whitaker...but with Oscar being the "old" fighter this time. Mayweather should win a decision, based on what I've seen so far.
Floyd would win easily like Oscar vs Sweet Pea but better,Oscar was in his prime then and many fort he lost,Floyd would win, yesterday was a excellent performance,i dont know what HBO where smoking saying it was a bad performance, its kinda like what SkySports where doing in the Paul Williams fight, they ****ted all over his performance saying it was terrible, but it was a brutal beatdown
Mayweather is a ****ing ***** when he knows his opponent can punch..
Baldomir landed about 3 good punches on Mayweather and Mayweather took them like nothing. From what I remember reading alot of people were saying once Baldomir landed he would hurt Mayweather. What's that all about?
Oh yeah, where was the strength? The fact is Baldomir never had the style to beat Mayweather and neither does Margarito. Margarito is better than Baldomir but he fights in almost the exact same way. Actually Margarito's punches are a little more wide.
The same thing Mayweather did against Baldomir he will do against Margarito and people will still complain.
