Before the main event, Chris Arreola survived a first-round cut around his right eye to stop Damian Wills at 2:17 in the seventh round in a heavyweight bout. Arreola dominated Wills with his left jab and eventually wore down Wills as the fight progressed. Arreola improved to 18-0 with 16 KOs, while Wills, who is managed by actor Denzel Washington, fell to 21-1-1.

It'd be funny if Diaz lost. King just signed him for a zillion dollars.

In a welterweight bout, Santos Pakau, a last-minute replacement for Mauro Lucero, who failed to make weight for the bout, stood in bravely but proved no match for Paul "The Punisher" Williams, who scored two knockdowns en route to a sixth-round TKO. The taller Williams landed shots on Pakau from a number of angles, keeping Pakau on his heels and bloodying his face. To Pakau's credit, he reportedly took the fight on less than 24 hours' notice and kept swinging against the longer-limbed Williams, but it only prolonged the inevitable. In the fifth round, Williams hit Pakau so often, the fight should have been stopped. Williams finished Pakau (27-4-1) at 2:16 of the sixth round to improve to 32-0 with 24 KOs.
