Lampley on Countdown Show vs. Lampley on Jim Rome

I thought this was hilarious that someone as professional as Lampley would completely contradict himself within one week. On this Countdown to Baldomir-Mayweather show, Lampley is saying stuff like, "This fight could get tough", etc, yet he's on Jim Rome earlier this week, saying the only way Baldomir wins is if Floyd breaks his hands. Lamps is getting old or else getting paid LOTS of money by HBO to try to sell this fight.

Lamps has been losing it steadily for a few years now IMO anyway.......I mean how many fights in the past few years have you watched and heard him say "Big right hand by so and so" and if you actually were watching you would realize it was a left from the other guy............With that being said Baldy has a chance of course he is out skilled by a mile and Floyd is way to fast but he does have an important edge size and power over Floyd......I think it is going to be a lot closer than people think.Baldy is like a bigger version of Castillo and could pose a threat IMO.

I think Lampley's been paid enough money by HBO over the years to start thinking about retirement from HBO.

That's the kind of thing I can't stand about HBO. It's an insult to the audience.

People were saying that HBO is giving Baldi too much of a chance in order to increase the amount of people that watch it. If that is true than maybe Lampley said what he was supposed to on the countdown and said what he really felt on Rome.

Another reason not to watch those Countdown shows

The point of those shows is to sell more ppvs, thats why they hyped up baldimor so much on the show. They were hyping Mayorga up as some kind of threat when we all knew he was going to get killed. I bet if they were on another network talking about the fight they would have said something completely different.

I like the countdown shows. Its obviously trying to get you to buy the PPV.

Maybe they can fool a few non-boxing fans to buy their PPV's and make money.

that's the whole point of a countdown show, to presuade you to buy the PPV.. of course Lampley won't make the same comments on an HBO countdown show and a talk show....
