Yea but I hate when these young punks talk **** about fighters when they wernt even around in their time, dont even know who was ranked or what was going on back then. I feal that you should only talk if you were around in them days or went and bought all of their fights.

He would have had a fight with Leonard but Hearns came into the scene rather abruptly. And that ended any chance of fighting Leonard when he was KO'd by Hearns.

Pipino Cuevas was a feared puncher. So much that Angelo Dundee said "its too much of a risk to put Ray Leonard in against Pipino Cuevas in Leonards first title defence," which is why they then went up against Wilfredo Benitez - quoting Angelo Dundee from a book i that interviewed trainers.

I've talked to older boxing fans first thing they say is "Cuevas can punch! He wasn't pretty but he went out their throwing bombs and knock you out, he had balls!" I think we've all seen the Hearns fight, and a few probably the Duran fight. But i got a clip of his fight against Espada for the title and Cuevas shows his power. And all you got to do is see the Duran fight with Cuevas and see Durans reaction when he beat Cuevas, you would think Duran won a World Title again, because you can tell Duran felt a great accomplishment to defeat Cuevas. Which in terms shows the respect Duran had for Cuevas, in turn is shows how respected Cuevas was as a fighter.

And about the article, without a doubt the writer was a fillipino, that article had some **** in it. Instead of praising the accomplishments of or even trying to talk about the accomplishments of these two greats, the writer downs them with their lose with out mentioning, the great runs they had as fighters. That writer article sucks.

There was a report that Maurice Blocker has been hanging out around Team Paquiao in recent weeks...Pac Man was actually asked about the Blocker sighting and this is what he had too say...

"you bet your ass Maurice has been hangin with Team Pac, dont forget about Keith Holmes either, the point of this is simple...if Erik thinks he's gonna get inside my head by hangin out with some of his boys-that dont faze me...he can hang out with his boys and I got mine"

Freddie Roach was also asked wat he thought about having Blocker and Holmes hang out for parts of training camp and this is what Roach had to say...

"I dont have a ****ing clue why either of them is with us...I really have no ****ing clue"

Cuevas was famous and good puncher but overated, he isnīt a mexican legend... He is like Vargas o Campas.

Could be true...but the fact that he is the heaviest mexican Hall of Famer makes him somewhat a legend. He's an inspiration to bigger mexican fighters.
