    Baldomir-Mayweather: Paying for a Masterpiece?

After initially deciding to buy the PPV shortly after the Baldomir-Mayweather fight was announced, I recently decided not to because I think the fight will be a complete mismatch.

However, I've been thinking--and I know it's fight week hype that's making me do this--that maybe I should buy the PPV just for the priviledge of perhaps seeing a masterful performance from Mayweather Jr. As much as I wanted Gatti to beat Mayweather, I knew better, and I passed on the PPV and missed a blowout, so I wasn't disappointed. But after seeing the highlights, I was in awe of Mayweather's performance. I wouldn't mind paying to see him do the same to Baldomir, a bigger, better fighter than Gatti (as he obviously proved in July).

Think about it: either I see a great performance worthy of praise and admiration or I see a great fight, where Baldomir shocks the world and pushes Floyd to the limit. The only bad outcome would be buying the card and getting a stinker where Floyd jabs and runs all night, which may very well happen. This possibility is the only thing inhibiting me from committing to the PPV, and since we know Floyd probably won't engage him toe-to-toe, especially early, it may still keep me from doing it.

Tough decision here, and who knows, maybe something will come up that I can do instead so I won't be tempted into pressing that confirm order button on the remote. Watching the Showtime card will probably end up being too tempting, I'll get into the boxing groove and cave at the last minute. I'd rather TIVO that and watch it after it's too late to buy this PPV.

Off the subject, I do still contend that Baldomir should be FOY if he is simply COMPETITIVE with Floyd (e.g. he wins 3-5 rounds).
