    If Mayweather T/KO's Baldy...

Will you finally give Floyd's power the respect it deserves?

There seems to be a common misconception on this board that Floyd is somehow featherfisted, because he couldn't KO Glassjaw Zab. Even though I firmly believe that Mayweather was not trying to KO Zab, because of Zab's awkward southpaw stance, quick hands, and power. It would of been very dangerous for Floyd to do so, and also very foolish. Floyd did the smart thing in that fight by respecting Zab as a very good fighter and not underestimating him (despite his loss to Baldomir) and going for that quick and early KO.

Floyd is a very well-schooled, technical fighter who knows how to through a hard, snapping, decent punch with a lot of pop on it to get your attention. He might not have that 1 punch KO power that he undoubtedly did have at 130, but he punches hard enough and accurate enough, that over time, he can stop or KO anyone, and that includes iron-jawed Carlos.

    Discuss.

Floyd has pretty decent power, but he will be i think always be considered a weak welterweight, as I think Gatti is as well.

Youre right though, I mean how can we tell if Floyd has power if he's not dumb enough to put it to use?

If he KO's him with one punch, then yes.

But a series of punches wouldn't really prove he has power, unless he knocks baldomir across the ring.

One punch power is really mostly limited to the bigger weight classes for the most part. There are exceptions tho.

But I predict a mid to late stoppage TKO in favor of Floyd

Nobody thinks hes featherfisted. He's got some power and he uses it well against pressure fighters.

I would be impressed if he could stop Baldy on a different reason other then a cut. That would show me something. Because apparently, Baldomir cannot be hurt to the face

Judah definitely hurt Baldomir with a straight left right on Baldy's chin.

you can hurt him with straights, just not with hooks to the side of the head like Gatti was dishing out-though it looked to me like Gatti was flailing away with open fists a lot of the time.the whole fight it looked like his gloves didnt fit.
