    Francisco "El Gato" Figueroa Interview

On November 11, Francisco "El Gato" Figueroa will contend in his most pivotal fight to date. That night, on the undercard of HBO's presentation of the Wladimir Klitshcko-Calvin Brock heavyweight title fight, Figueroa will square off against fellow Bronx resident Joey Rios in defense of Gato's New York State Junior Welterweight title in Madison Square Garden. Figueroa is one of the city's best kept secrets, with his slick southpaw style, flashy moves, and heavy-handed assaults helping to make him a fan favorite in the metropolitan area. I recently spoke with Figueroa, catching up with him about his thoughts on his upcoming fight and getting to know the New Yorican boxer. [details]

Props to my homeboy Frankie for the interview. If ever there was a fighter that I have come across that was born to be interviewed, it's my boy Gato. LOL, I couldn't stop laughing, he's a funny ass dude. My favorite quote from the interview was "Gato talks and speaks the game", lol it makes no sense but it's too funny.

Dawg, Gatto has some of the craziest moves I've seen this side of Camacho and Toney.

I like Rios also, but I think his conventional standup style is custom made for an unorthodox southpaw who does more things in there. Also Frankie is a much bigger puncher.
