**** yeah, these bull**** PPV's are a wart on boxing. i hope these lame ass promoters get the ****ing picture, that these weak ass PPV's aint **** and no one wants to watch sub par match ups for a fee. it's bad enough we have to pay our basic cable fee's just to watch some of the lame fights that slip through and get on TV...................... -
HELL YEAH...i think the boxing community should keep this up. We can now download the fights. All we have to do is wait a day or so. As for me its all about just watching the matches.. I love the art of it all. So i dont mind waiting a day or so to watch them!! SO LETS DO THIS TOGETHER!! **** the PAY-PER-VIEWS!!!Comment

thsi is why UFC is so popular! they show free fights on spike tv.
OSCAR DELA HOYA needs to get a deal wtih nbc, fox, cbs and show 2 fights a month he would actually makre more money in the long run...he needs to sacrifice and get boxing back into the mainstage like it was in the olden days...people dont wanna spend money on ppv all the time...oscar would make more money and it would slowly give boxing exposure again..Comment

the reason these fights go on PPV as opposed to regular TV is because the fighters demand too much money to fight and the only way to have a chance at making that type of paper is to do a PPV show. Usually, they can break even with 25 or 30K home buys. By not having to pay Marquez or Jaca, they probably made a little money with only 20K buys, tho.
It's not the promoter's fault, it's the fighters demanding the money. I can't blame them since they are putting their lives on the line each time the fight, but it's getting to the point where they won't have an audience because every fight is on PPV.Comment

The reason boxing isn't on regular tv is ratings aren't high enough and tv and advertisers/sponsors don't particularly want to be associated with boxing.the reason these fights go on PPV as opposed to regular TV is because the fighters demand too much money to fight and the only way to have a chance at making that type of paper is to do a PPV show.
