While I agree that Klitschko is probably the best Heavyweight on the planet, he is not the World Heavyweight Champion. There is none.
For there to be a True World Heavyweight Champion, the two best heavies should fight. Who's the best Heavy is up for grabs, as is the second....thank you sancioning bodies!!
For my money, Sergei Liakhovich is the second best. Liakhovich beat Brewster, who beat Klitschko.
Also, Brewster blew Golota out of the water, while Byrd barely managed a draw against teh same man.....and John Ruiz barely got a win over Golota when the WBA strap was his. This means that when Byrd, Ruiz, and Brewster ruled the roost, Brewster was the more dominant champion and deserved to be, at the very least, # 2.
Also, when Ruiz lost to Toney, roids or not, he lost some credibility. Roids don't make you box better, skill does. So, while Toney disqualified himself through his illegal substance use, Jawney through himself out of respectability...if he was ever there....by losing to Toney.
This leave us Chris Byrd and Lamon Brewster, since Vitali retired...leaving us with two very good candidates for Heavyweight supremacy. Brewster beat Klitschko, Klitschko beats Byrd, Liakhovich beats Brewster = Liakhovich has as much claim to the title as Klitschko.....or at least is close enough for the Ultimate, Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship to be decided by these two meeting.
Klitschko vs Liakhovich must happen......then, we'll have a True Champ, IMHO.
KDOGG....I am totally with you on this...the best fight to come out of the Heavyweights right now would be that matchup...Klitchko vs. Liakovich...that would be a great fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
