These Chris Byrd references are not really relevant in my opinion. Chris Byrd was very faded and fought the wrong fight. He would have always struggled anyway, just like in the first fight.

Rooting for Calvin Brock, and I think he can do it.

everyone underestimating brock..after a shaky/nervous start in the first few rounds he settles down and eventually catches wlad - who in at least 2 points in the fight will be running for his life. brock by stoppage

the only chance brock has is if wlad throws too many power shots and gets totally exhausted as he did against the iron chins of purrity and brewster. brock isnt a big sharp shooting southpaw like corrie sanders so thats his only shot in my opinion and I question whether brocks chin is anywhere near as good as the above 2 mentioned guys

I just saw the Brock Mccline fight...Brock looked pretty much the same as he did in the fight with Ibagrimov.

Ehh, Im not sure Brock can beat Wlad. He's got some power but he's kinda slow and awkward. He throws wide, leaping left hooks which Wladimir should be able to defend against easily. Plus his defense isnt all that good, and looks like an easy target for Wlad's very fast one two combo.

While its looks like Wlad will KO him sometime in the 9th, I hope Wlad takes this fight seriously.

I agree. it made me cringe when mcline floored him with that hook in the 7th,,imagining if it was wlads hook. brock was much more hurt than I thought he was. he looked almost out on his feet when his head hit the canvas. give him this though,.,he showed a lot of heart and fortitude in getting up and actually getting the better of mcline the rest of the round. so,,wlad could be in trouble if he drops brock and goes for broke and underestimates brocks heart,,as he did with brewster he could punch himself out

I don't think there is any way Wlad will punch himself out with Stewart in his corner. But from what I read in his recent interviews, Wlad looks to be overlooking Brock and that's never a good sign.

                    boxing2005,

what makes you think he's overlooking brock? i think he's learned his lesson with sanders. he knows that calvin b is going to be in top form in any title fight, so i'm sure he isn't going to be ****ing around in camp.
