WBC Sets Purse Bid Date For Kessler-Andrade

The WBC have now set November 17 as the deadline for pursebids for WBC and WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kesslerīs defense against mandatory (WBC) challenger Librado Andrade. Kessler is however apparently sidelined with a rib injury suffered in training before the fight on October 14 in Copenhagen against Markus Beyer (W KO 3). This may force Team Palle to ask for a postponement. [details]

This is going to be one helluva a fight!

HBO would be absolutely crazy not to pick this match up, I hope Golden Boy can do something about this since they own Librado.

Cant ****ing wait...big risk with little reward for Mr. Kessler here....wonder what kind of odds will be available?

Im glad to hear that Kelsser will take on his mandatory on October, but the rib injury seems fishy since they are planning to fight in October, but they are already planning to post pone the fight due to Kelssers injured rib. It doesn't makes sence since, Kelsser has a gang of time to heal properly. Either way i hope this fight happens and hopfully we get to see it in the states.

And im very surprised to see this fight go to purse bid. Heres a chance for Showtime, Hbo or Golden Boy, Arum or King to bring this fight to the states and it seems like european promoter will take this fight and probably take place in europe and not seen in th states. This should be a very good scrap.

I saw Andrade beat the crap out of Otis Grant, so you gotta know Andrade means business! Kessler is going to have his hands full.

Usually they go to a purse bid only if no other arrangments can be made. I suspect that Kessler's team don't want him to face Andrade outside his own back yard. But they will have to bid high to beat Golden Boy.
