What is the difference between the 40 year old Hopkins and the 37 year old Hopkins?

It is not necessarily the age that makes a fighter old it is the ring wars, but I dont ned to explain this to you...do I?

I will say it again, Hopkins is not in his prime...Tarver was flat from losing the muscle weight, which effects you more when you are in your 30's, which is ironic since that is what ****ed up Jones Jr.

It's the old saying, "What comes around, goes around"...Tarver now knows this, that is why he kept his mouth shut; beating the unbeatable Jones Jr. is Tarver's legacy, and he doesn't want to hurt that.

Hopkins lost to Taylor, who no offense to him, fights a bit like an amatuer...Hopkins in his prime would of eaten Taylor alive with that crap he through at him...You see, Bernard is not as assertive as he used to, he became a passive fighter at middle-weight as he aged because he wasn't the same at that weight...Larry Merchent put it best, "Hopkins used to be a Lion that hunted his prey, now he is a Lion hiding behind the bushes waiting for his prey" {some **** like that}...

Hopkins is a very young 41. His age is irrelevent.

"Age is just a number"....this statement is bull****...if it was just a number Jordan would still be playing basketball, but because age does effect even the best, he is no longer playing...hormones go down as we age into our 30's and 40's, this is partially why we decline...remember, we die don't we.

I read that Hopkins wants a heavywieght fight and for him fighting Calzaghe would be a step backwards.

              Makes sense.

Calzaghe needs to unify the division. Its only one fight.

There are exceptions to every rule, you know that Abe...Bernard is certainly an exception to this rule!

As for Merchant's quote...which was a good one we have not seen the attacking Bernard Hopkins, the "junkyard dog" if you will since he fought Keith Holmes.

He fought Tito in a very conservative manner and he took that style and never reverted back even when fighting guys that really could do nothing to him.

The junkyard dog has not been seen in quite some time...I for one dont think he was in his prime until he fought Tito...a younger Hopkins may have not had the style to beat the savage punching Puerto Rican...

This is a tough question...when was B-Hop in his prime...and when did he fall out of it?

Foreman is a freak of nature...the guy wasn't that great, not like his younger days, but since he still had the power, heart, and could take punishment he could still win.

Just look at the 40 year old George and a 20+ year old George and tell me which one was physically better?

Roy Jones Jr. type of fighters are only the real problem for a Hopkins in his prime...for the Tito fight, young Hopkins would of still knocked him out ...Hopkins used to take people apart and finish them off.

Hopkins in his younger days would ****** his opponents on the inside.
