To break Marciano's record he needs to go 50-0, be the undisputed champion of the world (holding one title doesn't count) and he needs to retire withnout any defeats on the record. Even then he will still have the NC which makes it an impure record and inferior to Marciano's.

yeah all that mess doesn't mean a thing really. most fighters that are undefeated today are still undefeated because of match making manipulation. in order to get max buck out of your fighter, they dress them up with a record full of opposition that they can beat on their worst day, creating a undefeated record that looks impressive to the general fan..............it's all smoke and mirrors.

back in Marcianos day they had the same thing, but not nearly as exxagerated like it is today. and not nearly as often either, fighters back in those days had to earn their ****, that's why most of them had a grip of losses, because they had to fight real competition, they didn't have the luxury of 90% of their career being softies.............

I'd say Valuev is the only one who has a chance because King will throw 2-3 more bums at him in 2007. If he fights Wlad, he's done for. Calzaghe might try it since his whole career is based on fighting weak opposition. Why change when you're 42-0? None of the others have a chance, I don't think.

these days it doesnt matter how many you beat (unless your just ******) its who you beat i would respect a fighter with 10 wins over great fighters and several losses fighting great fighters and than someone with 50 wins over opponents who cant tie their shoes and no losses
