heh, they eradicated smallpox years ago although small samples have been kept frozen for research in a couple high security biolabs in the US and Russia.

The thing about this particular virus is that it never goes away. There is no cure for it, only a ****tail of drugs that keeps people from developing AIDS. By the way, Magic Johnson, who is HIV+, has taken tests after he was diagnosed, that came up negative. However, the HIV virus never goes away. So even though the tests are coming up (-) doesnt mean that the virus has gone away all of a sudden.
Morrison's only defense could only be that he was diagnosed incorrectly. Although they normally follow (+) results with more tests to avoid error.

a) You cannot cure a virus
b) You can however, KILL a virus, which CURES the patient.
c) And doctors kill multiple strains of viruses all the time.

I can give you an example off the top of my head:

HCV (Hepatitis C Viris) has been curable for decades, and I'm not talking about the vaccine.
