Maybe is because he went from living in the projects, to a succesfull rap-star, to a succesful owner of a clothing company (Rockawear), to the President of Def Jam records and he also owns a couple 40/40 clubs (which the one in AC cost a couple millions to build)Comment

First, he owes it to the people that he has a career...rap isn't like sports where you have to be good to keep your job, ex: Britney Spears sells more records than other singers that can actually sing, but people choose her because of her "style", not her singing talent.
And yes, I know sports people owe it to the people as well since the fans pay their salaries, but hopefully you see the point.
All I asked is what do people see in his rapping?
I like a couple of his songs, but he is no "genius", or at least I don't get it.
And yes, I do understand that he is liked because he "made it out of the ******s", but the fans are a big part of it when it comes to "Art"Last edited by Abe Attell; 10-18-2006, 12:00 PM.Comment

Yup, I saw his comments on MTV about it: he likes the workout and he is also a fan of boxing so it makes it fun, and any time you can have fun doing a workout, you should do it.Comment

He is a fan of the sport and at one time his company (roca-wear) was producing clothes and trunks for Judah (both from Brooklyn).
Carter actually used to box while working out and is always at the big fights.
He has the connects and influence to help get boxing back into the spotlight.

He has the best flow right now; meaning how his voice & the rhythm he uses coinicide with the beat & flow naturally. Not to mention he's witty & can make songs that make it to mainstream & yet keep his street crediblity to those that don't like his mainstream hits but his other stuff.First, he owes it to the people that he has a career...rap isn't like sports where you have to be good to keep your job, ex: Britney Spears sells more records than other singers that can actually sing, but people choose her because of her "style", not her singing talent.

Still not all hyped about him like others, but this was the first rap song I liked from him, not many after that, though I don't really listen to his other songs with conviction
