It's a natural matchup as Calzaghe should really be fighting at light heavyweight and Hopkins looks very effective there.

Calzaghe is a great talent and totally outclassed Lacy, but I think people are losing their minds with this now. Calzaghe against Hopkins, Calzaghe at heavyweight. Bloody hell!

I understand why Calzaghe would want Hopkins, but Kessler is the real fight in the division. Mind you, Calzaghe has finally reached the stage when he can go beyond the confines of just proving that he is the best at 168 and get into some marquee fights.

Before that, nobody cared what Calzaghe did.

do a search..i said calzaghe would beat hopkins years ago..for the simple fact hopkins dosent do anything..he just trys to steal the last 30 seconds or land a punch or 2 to win rounds...all you have to do is let your hands go on him...had tarver been in shape hopkins wouldnt have won

it's a good match up but it aint going to happen.

if it did go down i would take Hopkins by late round TKO.
i think that Hopkins body work and his ability to adapt to any fighting style seperates the two combatants.

nothing against Calzaghe i think he's great, but he hasn't fought anyone close to the level as Hopkins. not saying Hopkins is the greatest or anything, but between the two i see Hopkins winning over Calzaghe.

Calzaghe is going to look good in the first 4 rounds till he st**** to fatigue a bit then Hopkins is going to do his sniper work and get Calzaghe to slow down.

besides all the Calzaghe-Hopkins fantasy mess.

What about Calzaghe vs Kessler? why not unify? Hopkins isnt' going to come out of retirement to fight Calzaghe that's almost a dead issue to Hopkins and GBP.
Calzaghe vs Kessler is what fight fans want to see. we all want to see who is the true champ at 168lb. division. even if it is all euro fighters. it's a happening division right now and they can make it THE division to watch by making a unifed title bout.
both guys have 2 belts each and both are undefeated, both fighters say they're looking to fight the best, and as of right now only one wants to get it done and that's Kessler.
if Calzaghe wants to be the man then why not give the fight fans what we want to see, and that's a fight with Kessler.
Hopkins is newly retired and is old, it looks like Calzaghe is looking for easier match up, wanting to fighting a guy that has recently left the sport and is old in fighting lifestyle.
what i mean by easier is he's trying to get Hopkins out too late in his career, if they were to fight they should've done it at least 3 years ago.

Kessler is fresh, undefeated, and a champ. kessler is entering the realm of his prime. he's in the same weight class and he wants to fight Calzaghe, why doesn't Joe take the fight?
kessler is the only one to fight in that weight class and why wouldn't Calzaghe want to lock up all the belts? doen't make any sense to avoid the only real competition in your weight class when you're looking to be undisputed champ of the world at 168.

i think all the Hopkins talk is bull**** and a way of avoiding the real task at hand and that's Kessler.

after the Kessler fight then go for whoever, but the Kessler fight should be next, no if's, and's, or but's.............it's the only fight right now for Kessler and Calzaghe, 168lb supremacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
