Lennox Lewis: "I Can Still Beat The Champs"

Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has been away from the ring for a few years, and he is still not impressed by any of the current world champions. Lewis said that the entire division has slowed down, and his retirement caused the rift. [details]

I believe he could still become a champion if he comes back, hes better than Holyfield.

you mean the past-his-prime Evander Holyfield, and didn't his pompous arse refused a rematch with V.Klit the last time we saw of him?

don't get me wrong, Lennox is an all-timer, but he's long inactive now and old..

I bet Wlad could beat him. It would be interesting to see Peter against him too.

If there was a time when I thought Lewis would come back, it was when he was itching to fight Klitschko as he watched him demolish Danny Williams. Remember: "Sit down mate, and let me have a go."

He should have given Klitschko the immediate rematch by November/December 2003 and gone out no matter what after that. Now the ship has sailed and even if both were to come back, it wouldn't be the fight that it could have been 18 months ago.

I just think Lewis says these things to make sure the people that derided him when he was around realize that he was quality.

I just bought that "KO Presents Boxing 2006" magazine and it has some interesting things to say about Big Len's "aloof" qualities. (it says he's shy and a really nice guy when you get to know him, basically)
