He's just doing what Hopkins did through out his career, wait for the top fighters to fight him, except, Margarito is waiting to fight the fighters in his division, unlike Hopkins who waited for fighters to come up to his division.

OK, you say Margarito is a middlweight, but Koysta "is a strong MF for 140?" Biased, nuthugger you are. Vince Phillips kicked a prime Tszyus ass!
when was the last time spinks fought at 140? in 1999

Margarito is a middleweight anf kostya a strong MF, because kostya does not weigh 20 pounds more by fight night than by weigh in time

        Otro guey.

Ok, Kostya is "a strong MF"

        But, Margarito is a middleweight.

Yeah, what ever you say Mr. President of the Koysta Tzyu fan club.

When has Margarito came in 20 pounds over weight?

Phillips ****ed up Tszyu, he beat him at his own game. Tszyu was never the same after that fight, well actually he looked like the Tszyu of old when he fought Mitchell for the second time, but then again, everybody looks golden against Mitchell.

don't get me wrong, I understand, it is always about money...could Margarito move up, yeah, probably make a bit more money than he is now, but I understand that Arum is still trying to get a Mayweather fight and that is worth the wait because of the money....I just want to see exciting fights and a bit tired of being patiently waiting for the fights to come off.

Maybe Margarito can make some money fighting Taylor or Wright, or maybe they are just to good for him...who knows how long it will take for a fight with Mayweather to come off, I am not sure Floyd is on good terms with Bob Arum

I have seen every single Kostya Tszyu fight, and ill attest that Tszyu is very strong, and the other posters have a point that he didint grossly blow up between fights, he was very heavy handed.

Spinks was able to win a title at 154, weather you think hes a legit welter or not is negated by the fact that he is indeed a champion at 154. To say margarito is "waiting for the fighters in his division to fight him" when he could get so many other fights at 154 is kind of strange. Hopkins waited, your right, but then he moved up to 175 to beat Tarver after cleaning out his division. Margarito has never cleaned out any division, ever, he could move up and potentially try to clean out 154 but he wont because he enjoys the advantage, which is hardly "waiting" more like hoping and wishing.

              So whats your point?

LOL! Why you tring to act like Hopkins was at middleweight for only 1 or 2 years, the guy was at Middleweight for many, many years, dominateing the LESSEr fighters.

You can't make that comparason before Margarito has tried to fight the top fighters of his weight class, but for years they have denied him his right to challenge them. Why the hate on Margarito?

Hopkins enjoyed a huge advange for many years. Margarito came from the lightweight divisions, compared to Hopkiins who camd DOWN from the light heavyweight divison to dominate SMALLER FIGHTERS. Don't deny this fact.

You want to hate, then hate accordingly and evenly.

Also, Hopkins challenged the smaller fighters, before they even got to his weight class.

Hopkins was even saying how he would fight at jr. middleweight just to challenge these smaller fighters. Talk about a weight advantage, talk about being stronger, picking on the smaller fighters, calling out the smaller fighters, waiting for the smaller fighters, never moving up cause you want to wait for the smaller fighters, then you'd have to talk about Bernard Hopkins.

There was a man name Sugar Ray Robinson, who was denied the chance to fight for the 147 pound title, so what did he do? he moved up to 160...but then again, mentioning SRR and Margarito in the same sentence will now get me in trouble from the boxing fans.'

Hopkins at 175 wasn't in "boxing shape"

You translate reasonable criticism as hating..ok.

                    My point is, you said

Spinks was a jr. welterweight, and lost to Antonio Diaz, legit welterweight, what a crock of ****.

Spinks is a legit welterweight is my point. Margarito held how many titles at 154? Hopkins came down from 175 i think after his FIRST FIGHT, which was a loss. I think his goal from the start was to dominate at 160 and get 20 defenses, which he did. Lesser competition or not, he did it, and he did it in dominating fashion. And when he moved to LH to fight the RING champion in Tarver, he dominated then too, which is apart of my point that you cant use hopkins as an example when it comes to margarito. Because Hopkins' division was ****ty, but that was no fault of his own, 147 isnt a ****ty division and neither is 154, far more lucrative fights await margarito at 154 but he just stays.

The lucrative fights for hopkins were never offered in other divisions until after he destroyed trinidad, who was FAVORED to beat hopkins. And what fights at light heavyweight were lucrative enough for hopkins to leave his titles at 160? The examples arent the same. Tell me what fights between 2001-2005 were lucrative enough for him to move up to 175 or 168, i mean anything that compares to margarito being offered

Wright/Ouma/Rivera/Ishe Smith, reasonable fights that would gain Margarito some noteriety.
